A simple request...

One day, in the not too distant future, I would love it if a few of us could get together, in some form of chat (e.g. skype or mumble) and play in a vanilla server from scratch on a new map. If someone could host this, that would be great as my hosting sucks asshole. So, for now, i just would appreciate any comments on the idea and who's interested in participating (not too many people though as that would suck). Also, this wouldn't be a continuous thing, more of a one off thing or an occasional thing for a few hours. This idea stems from the fact that I'm just tired with all the commands and upkeep and the biggest dick competition that is - who can build the most elaborate shit. I just want to chill out, gather supplies, search caves and build modest homes/shelters with my friends .

I may be able to host it alongside the main server, but I don't know. I have the bandwidth, I'm not sure if the two servers will conflict though

I would host it but with my Upload speeds I would struggle with 3 people .

And also, we could do some testing with different people as hosts to see how much lag there is before we commit ourselves...

Spoonme has 8 gb of ram im pretty sure he can run a server.

Ive ran a server with rang3, me , rain and another guy on at the same time, no lag at all but I have a horrible internet atm with Verizon D+ on speedtest and pingtest, but it seems fine other than slow downloads. I talk on skype with rang3 all the time as well.

well, it seems people are up for it, which is awesome! looks like more people than i anticipated looking forward to whatever may come out of this

Yeah, that'll only be able to host 1 person. It's 4 ppl per 1mb/s upload

Well Ive hosted 4 before, and Dog lives pretty close to Ashburn and DC and thats where the server I used for the speedtest and he does fine.

Like dead honest, my house is in a dead zone, I don't know if this is like my internet but my iPhone is never 3G around my house but anywhere else in the neighborhood it has 3G
