The server is down again Pat, as it was yesterday for ages until you were able to fix the problem, is there anyway you can allow it so that someone else can restart the server if they notice it down? K, thanks

Backup plugin failing again, causing server to run out of memory.

Re: Taking the piss a touch now...
Did some maintenance and failed at runecraft. Should be more stable now. (I also re-added factions)

If you don't understand linux I suggest ubuntu, xubuntu or a distro like that.

Re: Taking the piss a touch now...
I wanted to go with a non-gui OS, but then again, I'm going to have more RAM than I need (8bg for a 50 cap, yes it's going to be a 50/60 cap people, keep your pants on)FERMIS wrote:If you don't understand linux I suggest ubuntu, xubuntu or a distro like that.
I'll happily let you set up Remote Desktop, as long as it doesn't use up too much of the CPU.

Remote desktop is a windows thing. If you are going to linux you will be using ssh.
they are for remote connection.

Re: Taking the piss a touch now...
Yeah I know that. My plan is to stick with Windows until the new parts come in (ordering what parts I can tomorrow), then I'm going to linux. So is Remote Desktop a big program or does it run silently in the background?FERMIS wrote:Remote desktop is a windows thing. If you are going to linux you will be using ssh.

Re: Taking the piss a touch now...
It is built into windows. it's like an option. When you use it it takes up a little ram but uses more network. However if you access it locally it will hardly take anything. It is simple and would allow you to use that computer from another room, or another location. By giving the usr name and pass to somebody else it would allow them to access that computer and restart the server or update plugins.
