Unfortunately, vanilla oriented servers arent the most popular, not to mention the thread for this server on the mcforums advertise this server as pvp, which is practically nonexistent. I say friendly pvp is in order, with "war" or "factions". to give something to do other than mine and build, which is all good mind you but the server needs some spice. BTW pat i promise that once I make a paypal and my bank account which i no longer use due to some complications of my parents money is replaced, I will donate at least 15 bucks. Maybe more

what could you do to improve pvp though...via plugin that is...i plan to build a purpose built town for organised pvp soon...was fun around fondor doing it before, thought id build a better area to fight in...but plugins...not sure what you could do to improve pvp...i voted fun btw... ![Very Happy](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_biggrin.png)

Factions, MCMMO (yeah yeah ik pat, gawd), vampires, mob arena, War.. All great plugins for pvp, maybe have a set area for pvp and plugins and leave the rest of the server as it is?

and the names of those mods do sound very interesting, and im pretty sure i know what the vampire mod is, seen it before...i think...but i would like to see a little less rage at pvp...pvp would be helped half by plugins and half by people not raging when they did get pvp'd, too much complaining at that and always the classic line, 'gimmeh mah stuffz' people even go as far as to ask for admin intervention all too often...i think awareness of pvp needs to be raised...somehow...

Edit 2:What I could do is have people pay to make factions instead of paying to get zones. That sounds like an awesome idea to me.
Edit 3: And if you donated, you could pick to either get the regular donor stuff and a 50x50 zone or a [<name of faction> Leader] tag before the name. I actually really like this idea.
Edit 4: I'll poll it if I deem it possible. If it passes the poll, I'll send it to the Staff forum and we'll discuss configuration options there.

Yea That sounds like an idea. No real need to claim land, just need the "social" options.
Could rather have a battleground/arena/chunck of land/defence of faction land or w/e to solve issues instead, plenty of options to make it work.

Here's what I was thinking as I tried unsuccessfully to go to sleep last night:
2 ways to get to be leader of a Faction/Guild
The reason it is so high, as apposed to the 5000 for a 50x50 plot before is that you can expand it. You begin with one chunk and for every x (1-2) amount of people to join your faction, you get to claim one chunk. (16x16) You can charge people to join your faction, you can promote them to builder, famrmer, moderator, or whatever title you can come up with. 5 USD or 1k freed and you can have it as your tag. (maybe, depending on what people want) Leaders can choose what their title is. For example, if you start the faction Freedshire, you can be "King of Freedshire". This gives you the ability to claim land and expand your city as it grows. I may put a cap on the chunks at like 25. To give you a sense of scale, it is 9 chunks for a 50x50 plot. However, it will take 25-50 active members to get that much land. If someone isn't online in 2 weeks, they are kicked from the faction they're in and the faction could lose land. Other factions can claim this land, but I think I'll make a rule against it. Yeah, I'll make really strict rules on what can be claimed and what can't be, and if those rules are broken, the faction goes bye bye.
I'll write some more walls of text if you guys want me to. I've got about 60% of it planned out in my head.

I like it all except 15-25k freed is a bit expensive seeing that at this point only 2 people are past it and one doesn't play, I feel like 10-25k would be better as then more people can afford it.

I think pooling the money is probably the best option for most, and very practical for a group project such as a faction.

I think factions would be a good idea, and I also agree with the 15k - 25k for a faction. It would be hard for players to get to that amount limiting the amount of them, and a up side for pat, people might be more willing to donate if it got them a faction.

Factions.
I believe that there should be a staff faction. Granted they wouldn't be as 'active' as other factions but I believe all those with /god should be on one side. I think it would help to avoid the situation where lets say rang3's faction attacks Spoons or a players faction. the odds would be stacked in total favor of the side with /god.
