New Spawn-We need you!

It's no secret that 90% of the people here dislike some part of the spawn. I'd like to fix that by starting Project Spawn! (creative, huh?)

The way this'll be done is someone makes a plan, everyone votes, and the best plan is chosen. The server will be whitelisted so that only people who want to build it can join. They will be given all the materials they could possibly want, and flyhacks will be approved for building spawn.

Anyways, here are the guidelines for submission:

1) Make a plan in an external program such as Paint, Paint.net, photoshop, etc...
2) Make it reasonable, we don't have that many players willing to do this and there will be no WorldEdit. (Then again, we could do it on an external server and just come in, build a little, leave, repeat)
3) Make it fancy or themed in some way (i.e Roman or Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings)
4) Post plans in a [.spoiler=plan] [.img][./img] [./spoiler] setup
5) Plans must include a spawning area, a city, and places for the rules to go.

Id like to know what is the main cause of dislike for the spawn area in the first place. I cant see any real problem with the current one. Enlighten us?

I can draw up some plans, and yeah the spawn is annoyingly long. Perhaps a cathedral spawn with themes of both notch and herobrine? Dunno. I'll come up with some concepts

I was thinking if you want something lush that shows off the server in seconds from simply logging on my idea.

A pyramid/desert spawn.
The main building I would say to be a pyramid the measurements and so on I'm not sure but roughly maybe 65x64 something like that to build a perfect pyramid but we want it big. Big enough so that the main thing is inside.
Deep down in the pyramid at the back, Catacombs in which everyone spawns asif waking up from a tomb and the spawn helpers and everything in like a tomby looking room. Eventually leeding to the main floor of the inside of the pyramid which could go different ways but the one I want to give with my idea would be a garden city in an egyptian style. In that way all the spawns shops and station can exist inside the pyramid.
I'll put images of ones already made, but I'm not going to draw anything yet as I think with what's said it's simple enough to give you all a good visual image atleast.


This image came across to me as an idea for where you might spawn if you dont want the ancient feeling.







For this image i like the idea of the statue as the entrance i personally would then maybe add Colums leading down a bit but instead of this guys sphynx type thing you would make it Pats skin or something, a better spyhnx would be this one ill link underneaf.


This could be an idea for the entrance. It could be made a big opening like the one above and add more to it.
The roof could be made from golden blocks and the pyramid from sandstone, simple enough. The Garden city proberly lots Stone/Sandstone golds,blues and grass/flowers/leaves/fountains.

The sphinx coming out of the pyramid looks really nice, but I think something Greek/Roman would look really cool like that arch city thing you linked to.

Living near DC, I see this stuff all the time and I love it.

FYI, I was trying to draw up some ideas but I couldnt come up with anything I liked :/ but then also... Isnt the reason spawn lags the server because the server then has to render the entire spawn with all the different things its made out of? Dont you think that maybe we should simplify it?

No that's not why. It's actually more simple than say a mountain.
I don't know what the problem with spawn is...I'll move it once we make the new one and turn the old one into ocean.

Hrm, but the spawn is made out of gold, diamond, glass, pumpkins, dirt, glowstone, iron, and is in the ocean... Are you sure?
Well either way I think that it would be cool to make the spawn based off of different historical architecture like you guys are suggesting. Perhaps a bit of mayan pyramid, sphinx, obelisks, and whatnot.

id be willing to build at the spawn...what i dont like is:
1) Length
2) Style
3) People's commitment where they started building there (laziness)
4) It's rushed look

I have no ideas myself, i'd be happy with almost any revamp...but yeah, when we start building just gimme a message and ill be there

no no no dont oceanafy the old one kind of destroy it a little and make it look ruiny and then people could build a town in it and call it like the ruins idk i think that would be b a

i don't know how to "make a plan" but i would love to help and i think we should go with Minas Tirith or mabey Shipwreck Cove from Pirates of the Carribean

we could build the whole thing on an island and surround it with a semi-circle island just like in the movie and put some large ships in the water near it with jolly rogers

On a more serious note. Something simple would be nice. It doesn't have to be gold and diamond blocks, and I believe it should stay in the same spot because people have built around spawn so why move it.
