i cant get on the server

hey guys its colecole12 here and me and my friends gsfreeman colecole123 ( i gave my friend my little bros acount) and we want to get on i dont know if we all got banned but it says something about java:( .

Thats not a ban lol

probably your client is not on 1.1, the server won't be updated until bukkit updates. So you can either wait it out, or revert back, I'm gonna wait it out cause 1.2.3 is cool.

Around the time when bukkit updates to a recommended build I guess. But its all up to pat.

well if it says something about java, it's not because of his client, is it? Because the error everyone is thinking about simply says "outdated server", no java in it. The error where you can't connect (I think) is a bunch of mismash where it starts with java.

Cole if you could please provide the error exactly as it appears it would be very helpful.

I think the most obvious and generic solution for this is:

Are you on 1.2.3? If so, downgrade to 1.1.0...

There fix'd, unless of course there is actually a problem doing this should solve it. No need to be getting over complicated Ferm, a java error comes up for me if I try to log in on 1.2.3, so that is the most likely reason.

yes im on 1.2.3 but if i down grade will i lose my single player worlds? and also when the update does happen for the server will it delete all the buildings and items ( a fresh map )

Q1: Not if you delete .minecraft folder with your saved worlds in it.
Q2: The map wont be fucked unless pat says otherwise. Updateing the client have nothing to do with the map on the server.

Burn worded that awkwardly. You won't lose any of your single player worlds ever, unless you delete the saves in game or by deleting them in the .minecraft folder no matter how many times you downgrade. What will happen however is that it will need to convert, and I'd possibly try to avoid any worlds you have used new bricks in (for example the new stone brick).

TL;DR? No you won't lose your single player worlds.
